What are Dashboard Settings?
The dashboard on HIVO gives you a quick overview of key features and important information. But did you know you can customize the look and content of this dashboard to fit your needs? Admin users can complete all customization through the "Dashboard Settings" feature in the Client Profile.
By taking advantage of the Dashboard Customization feature, you can:
Show the information that matters most to you right on the dashboard.
Organize your dashboard layout in a scientific and logical way, making it easy to track metrics and data.
Add custom images or charts to make your dashboard more intuitive and easy to understand.
Navigate to Client Profile => Settings => Dashboard Settings
Admin users can also access via Profile => Manage Dashboard.
Once you have clicked into Dashboard Settings you will see the following screen:
In the "Users/Groups" section, you can specify which HIVO Users or User Groups will see a particular fullscreen dashboard.
Users assigned to multiple dashboards will see the one with the highest level of specificity first.
Individual user assignments take priority over group assignments, which take priority over applying the dashboard to everyone.
Users not assigned to any fullscreen dashboard will see the default non-fullscreen dashboard.
Select "Apply to All Users" if you want everyone to see this dashboard.
The "Search Bar" section lets you choose between using the Library search bar or the Collection search bar for the fullscreen dashboard.
If a user lacks Library access, the Collection search bar will be displayed.
If they have access to neither, the default non-fullscreen dashboard will be shown.
Logo: Upload a logo (light colors recommended) in the "Branding" section. If no logo is uploaded, the default HIVO logo will be used.
Background Image(s): Select one or more high-resolution images to use as the dashboard background. Selecting multiple images will result in a random selection upon viewing the dashboard.
Background Color: Define a backup background color in case no background image is set or if it fails to load.
Enter a description that will appear at the top of the dashboard. (Example: "Welcome to the HIVO Brand Portal")
The "Quick Links" section allows you to create links to external websites.
Include a label and URL for each link.
Optionally, you can upload a thumbnail image for each link.
Quick Links to resources users don't have view access to will be hidden, excluding external websites.
In the "Collections" section, you can include specific collections within the dashboard.
Optionally, use the "Alt. Collection Thumbnail" field to set a custom thumbnail for each collection within this dashboard.
List relevant tags (e.g., "surfing," "brand," "logo") to categorize your dashboard content.
The "Faces" section allows you to display specific faces within the dashboard.
Example: Select the faces you want to include (e.g., "David," "Jane Smith," "Ben").
In the "Brands" section, you can showcase specific brands within the dashboard.
Example: Select the brands you want to display (e.g., "HIVO Brand Guidelines")
Note: The following images will bypass access checks for users when viewing this dashboard:
Dashboard Background Image(s)
Dashboard Logo
Manually set Collection thumbnails
Quick link thumbnails
Once you've completed your customizations, click the "SUBMIT" button to save your new dashboard.
By creating specific dashboards with relevant functionalities and branding elements, Admins can provide a branded working interface, tailored to each specific user group.
