# Sharing Assets via URL Link

## Creating Shared Links via Asset Detail Page: 

1. **Navigate to Asset Detail Page:**

* Go to **Library** > **Select Asset** > Click the down arrow in the upper right corner of the selected asset and click **View Details**:

2. **Share the Asset**:
   * Click **Share** from the action menu.
   * Configure the sharing options on the New Shared Link tab:
     * **Description**: Briefly describe why you’re sharing the asset in the Usage step.
     * **Validity Period**: Set an expiration time for the link in the Expiry step.

* **Options**: Set the following configurations in the Options step:
  * **Expose Metadata**: Choose whether to show asset metadata on the shared link.
  * **Allow Approval/Feedback**: Permit viewers to approve or leave a comment on the asset.
  * **Hide Download Buttons**: Make the link view-only with no download button visible.
  * **Limit Versions**: Select which asset versions to share.
  * **Version Permissions**: Set permissions for viewing/downloading versions.
  * **Limit Access**: Restrict access to specific individuals.

3. **Submit and Share**:
   * Click **Submit** to generate the link.
   * Options include copying the link (by rick clicking on the text that says right click and copy and then copying the link url) or emailing it directly with the EMAIL THIS LINK button:

**Note:** Recipients will see a view similar to the below Asset and can approve / feedback when they open the link if the approval / feedback option is turned on:

***Note:** Any changes made to an Asset will affect all Shared Links containing that Asset.*

## **Viewing and Managing Shared Links from Asset Detail Page:**

1. **Access Shared Links**:
   * Go to the **Share** tab in the asset details page.
   * Select **Shared Links**.
2. **Manage Links**:
   * View details of each link including description, validity period, and more.
   * Click the ‘**Show**’ button to reveal the link to copy and share.
   * Click the ‘**Remove**’ button to remove the link.

## Creating Shared Links from the Library

You can create Shared Links for a selection of Asset(s) using Library Actions.

1. **Select Assets**:
   * Open the library and [Select Asset](https://support.hivo.co/library/selecting-assets)(s) you want to share.
   * Click the **Actions** button.
   * Select the **Share** option.
2. **Configure and Share:**
   * Configure the sharing options on the New Shared Link tab, similar to sharing via Asset Detail Page above.
3. **Submit and Share**:
   * Click **Submit** to generate the url link.
   * Sharing options include copying the link (by rick clicking on the text that says right click and copy and then copying the link url) or emailing it directly with the EMAIL THIS LINK button
