🚀 Permissions required by HIVO when integrating Microsoft Office

When deploying the HIVO integration, the system will request the following permission groups. These permissions are the minimum technical requirements for the HIVO Connector to operate, while remaining fully compliant with HIVO’s Privacy Policy.

1. “Can read and make changes to your document"

  • Why does HIVO need this permission?

    • To let you insert images, videos, or other assets from HIVO into your document.

    • To support replacing assets when you update content.

    • To update links or metadata from HIVO directly in the file you are working on.

  • What HIVO does (and does NOT do)

    • Only edits the exact part you select.

    • Does not scan or read your entire document.

    • Does not store any document content unless you intentionally upload it to HIVO.

2. “Access profile information”

(Such as my name, email address, company name and preferred language)

  • Why does HIVO need this permission?

    • To authenticate your account with HIVO.

    • To ensure you receive the correct access permissions based on your company settings.

    • To display the interface in your preferred language.

  • How HIVO uses this information

    • Only to verify who you are and which organization you belong to.

    • Does not share your profile information with third parties except for approved enterprise systems.

3. “Can send data over the Internet”

  • Why does HIVO need this permission?

    • To access your HIVO library and retrieve assets you choose to insert.

    • To sync changes or download assets as you work.

    • To maintain a secure connection between your document and your HIVO account.

  • Security

    • All data transmitted over the Internet is encrypted via SSL/TLS.

    • HIVO uses AWS (ISO27001, SOC 2), and the infrastructure provider has no access to personal content.

    • The HIVO Connector does not transmit documents unless the user explicitly performs an upload.

    • HIVO does not use customer data to train AI models unless the customer grants explicit permission.
