# Library Folders

### Create a folder in the library

Users with permission can create new folders and subfolders within the library by navigating to the Library, switching to folder or tree mode, and then clicking on '**Add Assets'** and then  '**Create Folder**':

### Search for a folder in the library

Users can search for library folders by typing in their search in the Library search bar. HIVO will then show search results for the folders that exist in the Library related to the search:

**Note:** Searching for a library folder in [Asset view mode](/library/library-view-modes.md) will show the contents of a folder in a flat structure. If you want to see the actual folders, please make sure to be using [Folder or Tree view modes](/library/library-view-modes.md).

### Finding which library folder an asset is stored in

Users with permission can see the library folder location an asset is stored in from the [Asset Detail Page](/assets/asset-detail-page.md) by clicking on the details tab and then scrolling down to the 'Folder' section and clicking on the eye icon:
