What are Dashboard Settings?

The gives you a quick overview of key features and important information. Admin users can complete all customization through the "Dashboard Settings" feature in the Client Profile.

By taking advantage of the Dashboard Customization feature, you can:

  • Show the information that matters most to you right on the dashboard.

  • Organize your dashboard layout in a scientific and logical way, making it easy to track metrics and data.

  • Add custom images or charts to make your dashboard more intuitive and easy to understand.

How to set up Default Dashboard

🔹 Step 1: Access to Dashboard Settings

  • Navigate to Client Profile => Settings => Dashboard Settings

🔹 Step 2: Turn OFF toggle "Edit Default Dashboard"

🔹 Step 3: Set up "Default Dashboard"

Default Dashboard include:

  1. FAQ:

  • Displays basic and frequently asked information about HIVO, helping users quickly understand the system.

  1. iFrame

  • Embed an external webpage directly into the Dashboard using an iFrame. Useful for embedding reports, internal pages, or user guides.

  1. Links

  • Add a list of internal or external links. Each link can have a custom label, making it easy for users to identify the destination.

  1. Text

  • Allows the input of a custom title and description. Ideal for displaying introductions, guidance, or highlighting important information.

  1. Notifications

  • Shows several of the most recent notifications in HIVO, helping users stay informed about updates or required actions.

  1. Statistics Provides usage statistics for account assets, such as asset storage and access.

⚠️ Note: Users need the "Can view reporting" permission to see this section. For more detailed analytics, go to the Reporting section.

  1. Recent Places Displays the last 20 locations a user has visited within HIVO, such as Users, Assets, and Collections. Click on any item to quickly return to that location.

  2. Active Users Shows a list of users within your client who have recently been active, including the time of their last activity. Permission Required: Users must have the "Can View Other Users" user right to access this list.

How to set up Custom Dashboard

🔹 Step 1: Access to Dashboard Settings

  • Navigate to Client Profile => Settings => Dashboard Settings

🔹 Step 2: Assigning Dashboards to Users/Groups

Once you have clicked into Dashboard Settings you will see the following screen (note: Turn ON Edit Default Dashboard"):

  • Users assigned to multiple dashboards will see the one with the highest level of specificity first.

  • Individual user assignments take priority over group assignments, which take priority over applying the dashboard to everyone.

  • Users not assigned to any fullscreen dashboard will see the default non-fullscreen dashboard.

  • Select "Apply to All Users" if admin want everyone to see this dashboard.

🔹 Step 3: Search Bar Configuration

The "Search Bar" section lets you choose between using the Library search bar or the Collection search bar for the fullscreen dashboard.

  • If a user lacks Library access, the Collection search bar will be displayed.

  • If they have access to neither, the default non-fullscreen dashboard will be shown.

🔹 Step 4: Branding Your Dashboard

  • Logo: Upload a logo (light colors recommended) in the "Branding" section. If no logo is uploaded, the default HIVO logo will be used.

  • Background Image: Select one or more high-resolution images to use as the dashboard background. Selecting multiple images will result in a random selection upon viewing the dashboard.

  • Background Color: Define a backup background color in case no background image is set or if it fails to load.

🔹 Step 5: Customize Dashboard Content Display

Add and configure specific content elements to display directly on the Dashboard interface:

1. Description

Enter a description that will appear at the top of the dashboard. (Example: "Welcome to the HIVO Brand Portal")

2. Adding Quick Links

The "Quick Links" section allows you to create links to external websites.

  • Include a label and URL for each link.

  • Optionally, you can upload a thumbnail image for each link.

  • Quick Links to resources users don't have view access to will be hidden, excluding external websites.

  1. Adding Collections

  • In the "Collections" section, you can include specific collections within the dashboard. Optionally, use the "Alt.

  • Collection Thumbnail" field to set a custom thumbnail for each collection within this dashboard.

  1. Adding Tags

  • List relevant tags (e.g., "surfing," "brand," "logo") to categorize your dashboard content.

  1. Adding Faces

  • The "Faces" section allows you to display specific faces within the dashboard.

Example: Select the faces you want to include (e.g., "David," "Jane Smith," "Ben").

  1. Adding Brands

  • In the "Brands" section, you can showcase specific brands within the dashboard.

Example: Select the brands you want to display (e.g., "HIVO Brand Guidelines")

Note: The following images will bypass access checks for users when viewing this dashboard:

  • Dashboard Background Image(s)

  • Dashboard Logo

  • Manually set Collection thumbnails

  • Quick link thumbnails

Once you've completed your customizations, click the "SUBMIT" button to save your new dashboard.

By creating specific dashboards with relevant functionalities and branding elements, Admins can provide a branded working interface, tailored to each specific user group.

In the "Users/Groups" section, you can specify which HIVO or will see a particular fullscreen dashboard.
