When uploading multiple Assets to HIVO at the same time, you may accidentally upload files that are duplicates of existing Assets (including assets stored in the Library and waiting for approval to be uploaded). The 'View Duplicate' feature helps you easily detect and handle these cases before uploading, avoiding storing copies of the same Asset 😍.
Use the Upload tool to add the Assets you want to upload to HIVO. You can add individual files or select the entire folder containing Assets.
After adding files or folders, you can check for duplicates by clicking the 'View Duplicate' button.
When 'View Duplicates' is clicked, a pop-up window will display comparison information between the Asset being uploaded and the Assets currently in the Library.
This window includes:
Number of duplicate Assets uploaded.
Existing Asset details (name, creation date, size, etc.).
You can view more details about existing Assets before deciding whether to delete an Uploaded Asset or not. Simply click on the Asset name in the pop-up window to go to the corresponding Asset Detail Page.
Based on the comparison information, you can decide:
Keep and upload new Assets (if the content is different from existing Assets)
Delete Uploaded Assets (if content is completely duplicate).
👉 For example, you are uploading 10 product photos. After checking for duplicates, a pop-up window displays information that 2 photos are duplicates of photos already in the Library. You can:
Click the duplicate photo name to view details on the Asset Details Page and check if the new photo has updated content (such as a product photo with a different angle).
If the new photo is exactly the same as the old photo, you can delete the currently uploaded photo to avoid duplication.
