<summary>What are Collections?</summary>

Collections are a way of grouping similar Assets together that have a common theme, in order to make the Assets more accessible and easier to manage.

**For example:**

* Collection "Photo of project 06/06/2024"
* "Site Graphics 2024" Collection

</details>

## How to Create a Collection

Assets can be added to Collections by:&#x20;

#### 1️⃣ During Upload

## Other functions on the Collection Details page

#### Refresh

Updates the Collections list to show the latest changes, for example, if another user just created a new Collection.

#### Toggle Category View&#x20;

Categories are tags that can be added to Collections from their Settings. The category view will group Collections in a hierarchical form by these categories, which can be useful when organizing a large amount of Collections.

To install, navigate to the '[Collection Detail page](https://support.hivo.co/collections/collection-detail-page)' =>  3 dots icon => Details => Edit Info.  You can also create categories while uploading assets.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://2446612760-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0sjg5GpIPr5HzBTJYqYe%2Fuploads%2FPPln1WAnq7RDQCNiHxjH%2Fedit%20detail%20collec.gif?alt=media&amp;token=bbb3960d-1686-45c1-962a-a690fe286a73" alt=""><figcaption><p>Edit Info Collection</p></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://2446612760-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0sjg5GpIPr5HzBTJYqYe%2Fuploads%2Fr7OtzSiLDuIw4bnDdm6L%2F0606.gif?alt=media&amp;token=41d118fe-8cae-496e-8e94-2006d7be6395" alt=""><figcaption><p>Category View</p></figcaption></figure>

An example category setup might be ‘Brand’ + project name, which will nest the different projects inside the mockups category.

#### Create New Collection

Create a new Collection and assign related Categories (if any). Once created, click New Collection to enter the Details page and use the 3-dot icon to view and edit additional settings.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://support.hivo.co/~/changes/eaCuYFhybbREuBouwZp6/collections.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
