Watermarking

Watermarking is useful for limiting access to certain Asset Versions that may be public facing.

Watermark overlays used for all generated watermark versions can be set in the Client Profile => Settings tab => Watermark Settings. Optionally add a URL to an image or select an Asset within your HIVO Library, customize other settings such as opacity, then click ‘Save’. To generate a watermarked copy of an Asset Version, navigate to the Asset Detail page => customization tab (spanner icon) => 'Actions for Version' => toggle on 'Generate watermark Version' => submit.

You can also opt into setting all Asset versions with a given name to become automatically watermarked. E.g. All 'web' versions will be watermarked on upload. This can be used in combination with the 'Can View Originals' User Right to prevent select Users from viewing non-watermarked Assets (i.e. by watermarking all non-original versions and not giving a User the Right to view the non-watermarked original version). This setting can be found in the Client Profile => Version Settings => add a Version => toggle on the 'enable watermark' checkbox at the bottom.
