# Sharing Multiple Folders and Assets in a Single Shared Link

This feature allows you to select and share multiple folders and assets all at once directly from the Library Folder View. Instead of creating a separate shared link for each folder or group of assets, you can combine all the content you want to send into a single shared link.

👉 Note: When you select a folder, all assets inside that folder are automatically included in the shared content and cannot be deselected individually.

### How to share multiple folders and assets

#### **🔹 Step 1: Open the Library in Folder View**

Go to the Library and switch to Folder View to display the folder structure and the assets inside.

#### **🔹 Step 2. Select the Folders you want to Share**

* Hover over the target folder and check the box in the top-left corner of the folder. You can continue checking boxes to select multiple folders at once.&#x20;
* If you want to select a subfolder, open the parent folder and navigate through the folder structure until you find the subfolder you want to share, then check it.

👉 Note: When a folder is selected, all assets within that folder are automatically included. Because these assets are bundled with the folder, you cannot deselect individual assets while keeping the folder selected.

#### **🔹 Step 3. Select Additional Assets if needed**

In addition to folders, you can select individual assets or assets from one or more other folders.&#x20;

* Click on the asset you want to add.&#x20;
* Selected assets will be displayed with a highlighted border, making it easy to see which items are currently in your selection list.

#### **🔹 Step 4. Review your Selected**

In the top Actions bar, Selected shows the number of folders and assets you currently have selected, for example: `Selected (2 Folder, 3 Assets)`

* Click on Selected to review the folders and assets that will be included in the shared link before sharing. If you need to change your selection:
  * For individually selected assets: **Click the asset again to deselect it.**
  * For folders: **Uncheck the folder's box to remove** the folder.
  * To clear the entire selection: Click the X icon next to Selected.
* To return to the library interface, simply click **"Selected" on the Action bar one more time.**

**Step 5. Share the Selected Content**

Once you have finished reviewing, select **Share** from the **Actions bar.**&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://2446612760-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0sjg5GpIPr5HzBTJYqYe%2Fuploads%2FNChTSn0NBKIY2iCj8isK%2FGroup%20882.png?alt=media&amp;token=24dda5be-1e85-4cda-94cc-1647af7d1786" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* HIVO will open the shared link creation window for all selected folders and assets.&#x20;
* You can configure standard sharing options such as **usage, expiry date, and other settings** like Allow folder (*Allows recipients to view Folders that contain the Assets*), Password, Access Restrictions, and many other choices.

<figure><img src="https://2446612760-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0sjg5GpIPr5HzBTJYqYe%2Fuploads%2FKbIRnVJ4TirJyeBpQoZ5%2Fimage%20288.png?alt=media&amp;token=90a354a5-1d24-41a0-adf2-98d93da2862a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Complete your configuration and generate the shared link. The recipient will only need a single link to access all the content you have selected.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://support.hivo.co/library/sharing-multiple-folders-and-assets-in-a-single-shared-link.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
