# How to Create Products with Metadata from Product Selectors

👉 Note: This is must be enabled via the **"*****Include creation form for Add Product*****"** option in Additional Features Settings by a Super Admin or HIVO Admin. 

Once enabled, the Product creation form will be used when users **create a new Product from supported Product selectors.**

#### **🔹** Step 1: Open a Product selector & Enter a Product ID 

In the Product selector, enter the Product ID you want to create. 

* HIVO will check the entered Product ID. 
* If the Product ID does not exist, the option to create a new Product will appear.

 Open an area containing a Product selector, such as: Asset Uploader, Asset Detail, Library Actions, Asset Approvals.

#### **🔹** Step 2: Select Add Product 

* Select the Add Product option corresponding to the newly entered Product ID. 
* Instead of immediately creating a Product with just the ID, HIVO will open the full Product creation form.

#### **🔹** Step 3: Enter Product information&#x20;

Complete the required information in the Product creation form. The form may include:

* Product ID&#x20;
* Basic Product information&#x20;

#### **🔹** Step 4: Add Metadata

In the Metadata section, you can add the necessary metadata information for the Product, including pre-configured Metadata entries or creating a new Metadata entry.

* For an existing Metadata entry, enter the information into the corresponding "Enter value..." field.&#x20;
* To add another Metadata entry, select **+ Add Entry.** You can:
  * Select an existing Metadata entry and enter its value;&#x20;
  * or Select **Custom** to create a new Metadata entry. If Custom is selected, enter the name of the Metadata entry you want to create, then enter its corresponding value.&#x20;
* To delete an added Metadata entry, select the × icon next to that entry. Repeat the above steps to add more metadata if needed.

👉 Note: Product Metadata fields displayed in the form as configured by the Client in [**Product Settings**](https://support.hivo.co/client-profile/client-profile-settings/organisation-and-storage/product-settings).&#x20;

HIVO will create the new Product along with the metadata you entered. Add the newly created Product to the current Product selector. Allow you to continue your current workflow without needing to switch to a separate Product management area.

For example, when uploading an Asset:&#x20;

* Asset Uploader -> Product selector -> enter "HIVO-demo2026".
* If SKU-HIVO 2026 does not exist: Add Product -> Product creation form -> enter Product Metadata -> Create Product.
* The Product "HIVO-demo2026" is created with complete metadata and linked to the Asset being uploaded.
